First Listen Friday!
Stereo Hearts - 6/10
I like the song, and this was a great rendition, but the performance will probably make it better for me. I enjoyed the addition of female voices and harmonies, but this song is so overplayed that just listening to it hurts.
I Will Always Love You - 11/10
Amber sang the crap out of this song!! I cried just listening to it! Absolutely incredible! Would have been even better if it had been the far superior Dolly Parton version of the song. It was the only thing lacking from an otherwise flawless performance.
Love Shack - 8/10
A very fun version of the song, probably not a Glee track I would listen to over and over, but it was great.
You’re The Top - 5/10
We all know that Leroy and Hiram Berry can sing, so why the crap are they doing this? I assume they are going for comedic effect, but eugh. Found it annoying to listen to really…oh dear…
L.O.V.E. - 7/10
It’s nice to see Tina with a song again, they clearly remembered that she exists, maybe she’ll actually have lines in this episode. This is one of my favorite songs of all time, so to see Glee doing it is always a bit of a worry. But I loved it. It was very sweet, Mike’s singing is getting steadily better as this season goes by.
Let Me Love You - 5/10
Look, I love Kevin McHale’s voice, there is no denying he is ridiculously talented, but I hated this. Flat out hate. It just lacks some sort of passion or something. I don’t know what it is, I just didn’t like it.
Cherish/Cherish - 8/10
Definitely one of the better songs in the episode and most definitely one that will grow on me. As the song went on I liked it more and more. I don’t know the originals so I don’t have much frame of reference. It would appear that Samuel is going to be wooing Quinn…don’t think I like that…
Home - 9/10
DAMIAN FINALLY HAS SOMETHING TO DO RATHER THAN SIT BACK AND SWAY! This sounds wonderful, it’s perfect for his voice. The track implies that we might be losing Damian from the show. This might be a good thing as they don’t really know what to do with him. He has very little to do on the show and maybe it is best that he leaves. I don’t know. I want him to stay and do well, but not if they are going to treat him like an extra.
Shaping up to be an interesting episode. Can;t see it being a classic and incredible Glee episode, probably be average and I’ll cry at I Will Always Love You.
AND NONE FOR RACHEL BERRY!!! BYE!!! fuckers.
